Dad's Day

Father's Day. Hell, every day is Father's (and Mom's) Day in my book! Friends of every ilk can't help but see the influence and inspiration my Sainted Father gives my life. He's always been that way with me.

Ask my family and I'm sure they would tell you He and I are way too similar. I have to admit, it's a bit eerie for us both, when the same things are said; motion made, or action taken. Truth is, from day one, we've all known I was his name and representation. This is perhaps my greatest joy in life.

Family is THE MOST important thing to him. End of story! No matter how busy his work or community efforts keep him, my family is his being. I am grateful!

Of the many accolades and accomplishments I could tell you about my Dad; the one that comes to mind today is being able to share him with others. I have many friends who have absent father's or dad's that have sadly passed. My Sainted Father revels in fostering relationships with them all; reaching out and engaging them throughout the year. It is this special gift that blesses them and brings me such #Pride to me! My friends are his as well.

On this Father's Day I celebrate my Sainted Father with a drawing of him made over dinner in 1971, with a favorite artist, Billy King and friends. Titled "On the Move", it captures the quintessential style and charm of my Father.

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Of course, there is a lot more to Pride, than the parties and parade. This year alone, more states allowing same sex marriage have been added to the list. Our voices are being heard and our fight continues. That we can celebrate with Pride!

Chicago's Taverna 750, in the heart of Boystown, announced a partnership with restaurateur, chef, mixologist and entertainer Arnold Myint.

Arnold has received numerous accolades for his culinary and mixology skills nationally on Top Chef and in Nashville at his 3 venues; {blvd}, PM, and Suzy Wong’s House of Yum.

Arnold’s mixology has been recognized in publications such as GQ, the eater, and Nashville Scene. Arnold’s drag persona, Suzy Wong has won pageants, hosted charitable events and parties from P-town to San Francisco and can be seen on her web series; “Serve Fabulous”.

Arnold/Suzy will be bringing some exciting additions to Taverna 750's already popular martini and drink program including sangrias made with his own wine, Show Pony. Show Pony will be launched to the Chicago market at Taverna 750 in July at what Suzy guarantees to be a fabulous party!
